About the Conference Facilities

Located on the ground floor at the front of the first house, the Carfax Conference Room is an impressive venue for a medium sized conference, regular meetings, lectures or company training courses. The room is 24 feet by 20 feet and is one of the original Georgian drawing rooms retaining its authentic marble mantelpiece and exquisite cornice.

This room and its facilities may be hired on an hourly basis, half day or full day basis, or on delegate rate basis which includes overnight accommodation. The hotel staff cater for your conference needs and may supply interval refreshments, breakfast, lunch, and evening meal if required.

Equipment Available for Hire
We are able to hire locally most audio visual equipment, so please specify your requirements and we will endeavour to secure them for you. Please note that our receptionists are not trained technicians and you are advised to either bring your own technical help if necessary, and familiarise yourself with the equipment before your event (manuals are available for download).

Non-Smoking
The whole hotel is non-smoking and unlicensed creating a business like environment in which to host your conference.

About the Tariff - Which Rate is right for your group?
The tariff below outlines our standard Conference rates.
All rates include VAT at the current rate, and we reserves the right to change them without notice. There are essentially three ways to hire our conference room:
1. Just the conference room alone
2. Using a Daily Delegate rate which includes the hire of the conference room and refreshments
3. Using an Overnight Delegate rate which is a package which includes conference room hire, refreshments and overnight accommodation.
Decide which is the most appropriate method for the size and requirements of your group, and then choose the particular package or rate depending on your budget.

Discounts and Special Tariffs
- Corporate & Charity Discounts
Discounts are extended to our regular corporate clients and charities using the 'Conference Discount Tariff'. This tariff is extended to organisers after an agreement has been set up with reception and will depend on the nature and volume of your business. Please telephone for details.
- SA Departmental Tariff
There is a special discount tariff for SA Departments and centres on official business which excludes VAT. Please ask reservations for this tariff if you think your group is eligible.

Not available on Saturday nights.

Party to arrive Friday and Depart Sunday after lunch. Rates includes 3 course meal or buffet Friday and Saturday evening, full English breakfast, morning and afternoon refreshments (selection of self-service teas, freshly brewed coffee and biscuits), table refreshments (mineral water & cordial), buffet lunch Saturday, and room hire from 6 pm Friday to 4 pm Sunday . Minimum of 10 delegates.
The Daily Rates
Daily Delegate (per person)
This per person rate applies to a minimum of 8 delegates, and is inclusive of morning and afternoon refreshments (selection of self-service teas, freshly brewed coffee and biscuits), table refreshments (mineral water & cordial) and a buffet lunch served in the lounge. The room hire is included from 9 am to 5 pm.

As above, but with a 2 course lunch served in the dining room.

Daily Delegate Plus (per person)
As Daily Delegate rate, but additionally includes a 3 course evening meal with coffee, and the room hire from 9 am to 9 pm.

Before you make a Booking
Please ensure that you have read our Terms and Conditions for group and conference bookings, and have understood both the obligations of the conference organiser and the hotel. This will ensure that you receive the best service from us and that your event runs smoothly.
Exclusive Use of the Hotel Facilities
It is also possible to hire the entire hotelís facilities during certain months of the year, allowing your delegates more privacy and the sole use of the lounge and Car Park. Please contact the manager for details.
Fair Trade & Sustainable Purchasing
The hotel chooses local suppliers of fresh produce to reduce the environmental damage of transportation, and uses Fair Trade products where ever possible.
